Sometimes, I like to dip a toe where I have no business dipping it. In the arena of design, for example. I do not identify as a designer and likely never will, BUT when my friend Paul hit me up to make a flyer for his new business, I couldn't help myself.
To be fair, most of the project centered on copy and branding, which are more in my wheelhouse. The design part was just icing on the entrepreneurial cake.
My central task was to develop branding around a concept of a handyman/cannabis cultivator who can, literally, do it all. Paul is a cannabis-growing genius of our times, and he's also quite handy with a hammer and nail.
Apparently, weed operations have a habit of getting too busy to manage fix-it or expansion-related tasks. That's where Paul comes in.
In the course of our work together, we batted around every idea you can think of - including Paul's personal favorite, "The Candyman." I deemed it too spooky and nixed it in favor of "the get-it-done guy."
To me, the name says it all. Got stuff on your to-do list from last month (or two years ago?) Call Paul. He'll get it done! (On a delightful side note, we also kicked around a riff on "Better Call Saul").
For your viewing pleasure, compliments of Canva - the "anyone can be a designer" platform:
I even drafted my dude PT an email outreach letter to accompany the flyer. It looked a little something (exactly) like this:
Hi [COMPANY] team,
I partner with cannabis entrepreneurs to manage all of the fix-it projects on their to-do lists, from installing and repairing equipment to designing more efficient, comfortable workspaces. Let’s face it, most of your time is spent managing operations and supervising staff - which often means that any upgrades and improvements to your space get pushed to the back burner.
Several clients I serve tried to solve this dilemma by contacting a local contractor, only to discover that their small-scale project was a waste of the contractor’s time or far too expensive to pursue. That’s when business owners call me. I can help you get those projects done in a timely fashion and at a far more competitive price point.
Even better: I know the complexities of your business. I’ve worked in the medical market for over a decade, both cultivating and consulting for high-quality cannabis growers. Just like you, I wore many hats, sometimes joking that I wished I could clone myself to get more accomplished.
Now, I get to be the clone you wish you had, taking on all of those looming to-do’s so you can keep your focus where it belongs - on building your team and perfecting your daily operations. Here are a just few of the projects I can take off your plate:
Plumbing
HVAC
Electrical
Special equipment installations/upgrades
Efficient workspace design
General building repairs/upgrades
Infrastructure expansion
As an insured professional with a permit to work on location, I’ve empowered dozens of entrepreneurs to stop saying “I’ll get to it” and finally get it done.
Call now and let’s chat - I’d love to help you make the most of your growth.
Paul T.
Your get-it-done guy.
